DeeLee Candles are handmade and hand poured by Tyler and Pamela Engdahl in Belgrade, Montana. All of our candles are carefully crafted to provide the best look, burn and scent. The first thing you will notice about DeeLee Candles is we are not your typical internet candle seller. We don't carry 400 different scents for you to choose from. We want to sell the candles that we make for ourselves, that we like to burn in our own home, the type of candle we give to our friends. These scents are the one's we have come to enjoy over the years. Most all the scents are what we call "comfort scents", scents that we enjoy year around.
In starting DeeLee Candles, we decided that we would take our love of candles and make that our business. We wanted to share with other people our passion for a wonderful candle, that looks beautiful in your home and fills your house with that nice inviting country style aroma. A candle that friends will pickup to look at in your home. A candle that you would love to give as a gift to someone else.
How we make our candles:
Each and every candle is hand made and hand poured by us, right in our very home. We start by using a soft parrifin container wax that we have perfected for our own personal candles. We use Zinc Cored wicks (Never a Lead Wick), because we like the way these wicks burn and how these wicks completely consume the candle wax. The wicks are matched to each container so the candle will burn correctly, melting the container wax completely but not too big of a wick so the candle wax is consumed to quickly. Each candle is highly scented, with triple the amount of scent you may be used to. Even a small votive candle will completely fill your bedroom with fragrance.
In combining all the ingredients together, we heat the wax to the optimium tempature which will allow the scent to mix with the wax correctly. The correct combination of candle dye is added to give your candle the right color to match the scent of your candle. This process ensures the wax, dye and scent are completely combined and you have a hightly fragrant candle that is consistent throughout the entire candle. DeeLee Candles will smell wonderful from the top of the candle to the bottom.
This perfect combination of Wax, Color and Scent is then poured into our classic looking apothecary jar with a domed lid and handle. Each apothecay jar is adorned with a label designed from a combination of computer graphics and hand painted watercolor art. Pamela painstakingly painted each and every label to give the label it's antique country charm. Even the warning label on the bottom of the jar is a wonder kraft brown paper to add to the charm of this candle. As we like to say, "this ain't no Walmart candle", this is the type of candle you would expect to find at a farmers market or craft fair.
